Package A person entering the Local 188 Apprenticeship Program must be willing to commit to a five-year program of 216 hours of classroom instruction per year (two evenings per week September through May) and a total of 10,000 hours of on-the-job training for the five-year period. Applications are accepted year-round and a new class starts each September. The minimum requirements for entrance into the Local 188 Apprentice Program include: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a High School graduate with a diploma or its equivalent (GED). Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the Pipe Fitting Trade. Must have a Georgia Driver's License.
